Fabulous February - Valentine's Day and Amethyst Birthstones

February can be a busy month - we are emerging from our chrysalis of winter with the shoots of spring hopefully sprouting through now.  Valentine’s Day sits comfortably in the middle of the month and, particularly for those new couples, it is a brilliant way to show the person you care about just how you feel.

A gold circle pendant and chain with a central ruby circular stone set within the circle, on a white silk fabric with red roses in the background for Valentine's Day.

Red is always the colour associated with Valentine’s Day, and here at Beebee Jewellery we have a lovely collection of ready to send pieces.  Perhaps you’re not quite ready to give your lady a ring yet, even a ‘dress’ ring, which is why a pendant necklace can be the best choice.  This Circle of Life pendant with a gorgeous ruby set in gold looks amazing and is a great affirmation of love.

A solid silver circle pendant with a round ruby set in 9ct gold within the circle on a pink silk background and pink roses for Valentine's Day.

No matter if you order in complete solid 9ct gold, or opt for the trendy mixed metals of silver and gold, this beautiful necklace is fully hallmarked with my maker’s mark (ALB), the London Assay office mark and the finesse marks of solid silver and 9ct gold.

What better way to demonstrate your affection?

If, like me, you have a family birthday in February, then the rich, deep royal purple of an amethyst is a great choice for gifts as the birthstone of the month.  Both these designs for a classic ring and pendant have proved extremely popular.  You might think, “She doesn’t wear the colour purple” but, as my daughter has shown me, these stones look great with blue and pink outfits which really make the stones ‘pop’.  As they’re a ‘7’ on the Mohs hardness scale (diamond being a ‘10) they’re great for everyday wear and are less prone to chips or breakages as well.

These gemstones shown here are cabochon cuts, which means they’re smooth on the top and flat on the bottom, rather than the faceted cut stones which are more sparkly but tend to have paler colour tones.

If you’re looking to convey symbolism and meaning in your gift, then for centuries amethysts have been associated with deep love, happiness, humility, sincerity, and wealth.

Not only are there hidden meanings, but these stones are also thought to be linked with helping with anxiety and depression. They can assist with clearing the mind, wash away toxic thinking, encourage solid sleep patterns, and ease tension and headaches.  They’re also a great, cost effective choice at a time when there are so many calls on our finances.

So whether it’s love for your wife, partner or girlfriend with a rich ruby or a birthday celebration with an amazing amethyst, we have you covered at Beebee Jewellery.

Thank you for reading and I wish you a Fabulous February.

Best wishes,

Antonia
